The Kloo violin opus 64 is loosely based on del Gesù’s from around 1737. It has a voice that is very coherent and cantabile, direct and easy to get a grip on, but also very malleable. A lot of focus and tone, from the dark and full low range up to the solid golden character in high positions on E, gives this instrument a lot of carrying power, but the ease of shaping its power and sound makes it great for more intimate settings too.
If you’re interested in trying this violin, please get in touch with me for an appointment here in Béziers. There are frequent flights to Béziers from the UK and Germany, TGV trains from Paris and other cities in France and Spain, and I can offer a beautiful guest apartment next to the cathedral in Béziers, free of charge in the case of an instrument purchase.
