Georgi Nikolov

Georgi Nikolov, born in 1997 in Kazanlak, Bulgaria, a town renowned for violin making, is currently a luthier based in Cremona, Italy. Influenced by his father, Maestro Hristo Nikolov, a pioneer in Bulgarian lutherie, Georgi developed a deep passion for the craft from a young age. He began his violin-making journey at 14, studying for five years at the High School of Fine Arts and Design in Kazanlak. In 2016, he advanced his studies at the prestigious International School of Violin Making “Antonio Stradivari” in Cremona, Italy, where he excelled, starting directly in the third year and winning the “Premio Grandi-Taglietti” for the best student in 2016-2017. He graduated with honors in July 2019.

Nikolov specializes in crafting both ancient and modern bowed instruments, including violins, violas, and cellos, using both spirit and oil varnishes. He adheres to Classical Cremonese-style models, incorporating high-quality, well-aged spruce and maple in his instruments. His creations, marked with his label, fire stamp, logo, and a certificate of authenticity, demonstrate his commitment to precision and excellence in violin making. A member of The Violin Society of America, Nikolov continuously seeks to enhance his skills and knowledge in the field.
