A beautiful violin by Michael Baumgartner, made in Basel. Alongside his brother Roland, they have decades of experience making and restoring and have amassed a large amount of expertise and recognition. The violin is modelled after Carlo Tononi, deviating from the typical Stradivari and Guarneri models, which is very rare and unique. It is meticulously made, and features extremely detailed work. The sound is reminiscent of the old Italian master himself. It is sweet, round and very warm. The player immediately feels an intimacy and connection to the instrument. It resonates nicely throughout the register, offering a very wide palette of colours and beautiful balance.
